peeling headlights help.
on my DelSol SIR the one peice headlights are peeling/turning cloudy!!
it looks like they have a very thin film over them and over time stone chips etc have caused the film to peel away from 70% of the light.
when looking at the headlight close up where the film is still covering you can see right into the housing as if it were crystal clear (like looking through a normal glass window) on the parts where the film has come away the plastic has fogged up. so, anyone have any ideas on what i can do to to get the entire headlight back to normal oem-ness  ??
i searched a few other threads and they say foggy headlights can be wet sanded and polished, but i dont want to wet sand the remaining film off these if i can help it as im not sure how they will look afterwards?
help!

Re: peeling headlights help. (redsolturbo)
That is the clearcoat peeling away on the outside of the lens. To get it off and get your headlights looking new again, you need to wetsand the rest of it off and then buff the light with rubbing compound and Meguiar's Plastx cleaner. I would use 800, 1000, 1500, and then 2000 grit paper for this job. I used this technique on my 96 Civic with great results! Here is a writeup I did awhile back.
