PCV Tube on the intake manifold.what does it do?
i found there is a crack and tear on the pcv tube thats located in the middle on the top of intake manifold.the new part is on the way but i am wondering what does that tube do?and what would happen if it is cracked or torn? thanks

It will also let unburned fumes from the crankcase into your engine bay instead of back into the manifold to get burned and catalyzed. Besides the pollution issue, there's also the smell. It can come in thru you heater/AC vents or an open window

umm....people with vented catch cans probably know the deal before they buy the part. They know that their aftermarket race part will not function like an OEM part. OEM PCV valves and hoses are made so that even people who dont know about cars will not smell anything unexpected.

yeah to be honest.i wont be able to smell anything even there is a visible crack on the tube/pipe.

maybe cuz you're overwhelmed by other smells/sounds? like i said man..normal people drive normal cars with cats, etc etc. If they smell anything....even a little bit....they're going to wonder and they're probably going to take it in to the dealer.
