Passing Bar in California
Alright so heres what I got.
A 98 honda civic hatch (obd2a) with a 00 si swap (obd2b) the swap is complete and running.
I used the stock dx harness and wired in vtec so thats working fine. My question is with the ecu. Im running the correct ecu but its obd2b so Im using a jumper for this to work. So I know that you cant use jumpers when you go to the ref, but would there be a way to make it so I could hook up to the diagnostics tool they use or a error code scanner and be able to actually read the ecu? If you use a jumper to go from obd2 to obd1 you cant read the ecu with the scanner, but this is still obd2 just a to b. If the ref cant use the scanner its an auto fail so I need to get it to work somehow, and i dont wanna go through the trouble of getting an all new harness.

Where did you hear that you can't use a jumper harness? I don't see the problem as long as the engine is newer than or the same year as your car and you are running the corresponding ecu for that engine..Which is what you are doing. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
