Default Passenger side front speaker doesnt work, any help?

For some reason my passenger side front speaker doesnt work, I thought it could of been blown and bought a speaker at a junkyard for $2 bucks and took out my old one and put that one in but it didnt work. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks in advance

Is it possible that a 2 dollar speaker from a junkyard is also blown? Do you have the stock stereo in the car?

No, previous owner put an aftermarket one in. I doubt the junkyard one is blown bc the car i got it off was almost untouched. The car also has a 12 inch i think sub in the back and an alpine deck, maybe he half assed it.

pull the radio out and check the wiring behind the radio. make sure all the connections are good and done properly with either crimp connectors or soldered and taped/heat shrunk. and hopefully a plug in harness was used and the oem plug is still thaere.

The first thing i would check is pull the head unit out of the dash and see if all of the connections are good. It's possible the guy didn't bother to solder the wires and one could have come disconnected.

My del sol looks to be a little different than your car, but here's a general idea of what you need to do. You'll need to remove the piece of dash around the stereo, it looks like you'll have to pull off your temp control *****, but that's just from what i can see in the pic. Once that is removed, there should be 4 screws around the front of your deck, remove those and the deck should slide out from the deck. From there, just double check all the wires are hooked up correctly and securely. Then just repeat those steps backwards to put it back in.

I managed to remove the deck after much hassle lol but yeah all the wiring is good, they were taped together and the oem plug is still there. Its the oem plug and theres a plug that connects to that and goes to the radio.

Game plan:

-I will redo the tape and make sure the wires are connected to the plug and in the right spot.
- Try on drivers side speaker on passenger side because I know that speaker works.
- Install deck again.

Also check the plug on the passenger door to see if its plugged in. Some times people do random stuff and unplug them. Might just be time to upgrade your wiring anyways and run new wires. Possibly the amp in your cd player is going out to?

I checked the plug on the passenger door and it the wiring was like jointed with an extension wire and it didnt seem to make contact properly so i removed the plug and reconnected the wires correctly. Should be working.

Also installed my radio back on there but its not turning on?

I basically got a short circuit when i was trying to get the deck out and i thought the deck blew, so i bought a new one. I threw that in and hooked it up but it wont turn on, could it be my faceplate thats blown? The deck was guaranteed to be tested and working and I believe it. I didnt know faceplates blow?

Head unit failure? seen it a couple times, once with a similar Alpine. not a sure thing but something to consider.

Maybe you blew the fuse for the deck on the car? Or on the deck it self they have a fuse. Check those then get back to us.

The deck that I originally fried by having a short circuit while trying to get out had the fuse fine, it wasnt blown. Though I havent checked the new deck to see if that fuse is blown. Im bored as hell right now, Ill go check that out right now.

What about the fuse in the car then? That would explain why it might not be working. Or you fried the wires in your car to your stereo plug.

yes that they can. go test your deck. Take a wire and hook it up to the yellow and red wires on your deck then hook up a different wire to the ground. Hook the ground to the - on your battery and the red and yellow positive wires to the + on your battery and see if they come on. If so then if all fuses are good you fried some wires by shorting it out some how.

Update, radio works now, it was the battery back up fuse. Anyways, I looked at the deck once again and I know the problem.

The wires are hooked up correctly and everything however the wires for the passenger speaker are nowhere to be found in the center console! I have looked but no cigar, I looked at the one in the pass side and drivers side and theyre both blu/green white/black but on the wiring harness theres just 1 set, one set of wires is missing. The driver side speaker wires are there but not the pass. side speaker wires. I have no clue where they are!
