Default Passenger Side Axle Install Question

Hey guys I got a silly question again ...

I'm installing Gator racing axles and im not sure if there supposed to be a gap on the passenger side by the transmission. I'm pretty sure I've whacked it in there all the way,but I'd like the opinions of that you guys think.

He are some pics, the circle in red is the "space" in question. I'd say its no bigger than 1/4" or less.

Thanks in advance!

I think that is fine. Mine has a little gap just like that. If it was closed all the way, how would u stick a pry bar in there to take out the axle ya know.

Should be okay as long as its sealed up nicely and there is no tranny fluid leaking.

its fine,..but next time,..instead of worrying if you did it right or not,..for passenger side axles,..always try to notice the axle click or pop in when installing it,..once it clicks or pops in,..its in

I hope you didnt really "whack" it. Well depends on where you hit it but you could damage the boot.

The axle is all the way in though.

Back from the dead, any opinion on my problem ?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1069988

Well I was changing the axle on my other rex and I ran into this problem, the new axle and the old axle do not seem to want to seat in the trans all the way. Here are a few pics to explain what I'm talking about. The old axle and the new axle sit the same way, the only problem was the old axle joints were shot, so just maybe everything will be ok.

Old axle, see the dirt ring, this shows how far the old axle was seated in

Another shot

And here is the new axle seated, the same as the old one was.

Before people say hammer it in more, I hammered it in as much as its going in. The previous owner of this car ghetto rigged everything on this car, so I'm sure he tried replacing the axle before and messed something up. Just wondering if anyone ever faced a similar problem, if so what was the solution ?
