Default Parts needed/how to? Install a d-series in an eg hatch

Ok I know this is a stupid question...

Can someone please help me out on what parts I need to install a d-series swap into an eg chassis, and how to do it.

I have always been an integra guy and i'm completely new to civics so I don't know where to start with dropping a d-series into the shell i'm about to have.

Civics came w/ a d-series. Its a direct drop in (unless you get crazy and start switching years etc)

i've never installed an engine...so i'm just looking to see if anyone has any step-by-step procedures to doing it so it will start up the first time.

I'm mechanically inclined...just don't know where to start on an engine.

it's alot easier than you think. just unplug everything ... everything. and lift... put back in and plug back. roughly speaking. i'm far from being an automechanic and i did all sorts of ish to my car. just be patient and don't half *** it. that's all i can tell you.

this d-series is going into a shell...one that I did not remove the engine from. I am buying it without an engine/transmission.

Anymore specifics?

This sounds silly, but...
On my first couple swaps, i labeled everything. It's a noobish thing to do, but I was nervous about forgetting. it helped though

D-series swaps are really simple, just like any other motorswap that doesn't need any modification. Make sure you have all the mounts, brackets, and everything that you would need to drop the swap in. This will save you a lot of time from having to run around and get parts while you're trying to drop it in. I've done that quite a few times when the people that would want me to do the swap for them would bring me the wrong parts. It would also be wise to pick up a VTEC SOHC if it's a SI/EX, or a non-VTEC for a CX/DX... **You wouldn't need to do any wiring.**

Buy a Helms manual, i belive it gives you step by step directions, and if you hjave a buddy with a civic with a d series, tell him to come and bring his car, that way you can look at it to see what plugs in where, other than that, its pretty simple. Just take your timee and do one thing at a time just make sure you have an extra hand =] maybe even two

It's just like any motor, they have their selected factory brackets and mounts. Any brackets and mounts would work for a 92-95 Civic. They work hand in hand. Rear tranny bracket to mount onto the rear mount located on the cross member. Top tranny mount which bolts onto a bracket which is welded onto the corner bend of the frame. Main motor mount which is on the engine that bolts onto the bracket located on the U.S. driverside frame. Front tranny bracket that bolts on the U.S passenger side frame on the bottom, and also the A/C bracket which bolts on the U.S driverside frame on the bottom.

Sounds like you're a bit worried for nothing man... don't worry... it's an easy swap to do, especially in a car that the motor originally went into here in the states.

well I guess I am getting a little bit too worried.

Does anyone know of anywhere online that has a step by step to installing a d-series? I'd definately prefer to do this myself instead of paying a shop to do it all.

but on second thought, it would bw wise to have a manual. i belive the helms manual has a guide to installing your engine, you can pick one up at an autoparts store, otherwise, if you run into any problems, jsut post here and you'll get an answer pretty quick =]
