Painting side skirts
ok i know this topic has been covered but i cant seem to find my answers even in the archieved threads.. ok so i had this oem trim paint and i just want to paint them back to black.. because they faded to a ugly light grey with spots.. so what kind of sand paper should i use? and do i need primer before i spray it with the oem trim paint?

I'd use a very fine grit paper and water... Like your wet sanding.
Don't sand so much that you scratch the plastic, then use a paintremover for the rest!

Automotive paint store:
Plastic prep
tack cloths
can-o-primer (for plastic)
can-o-paint in color you want (also for plastic)
You might want to go over the thing with a light sandpapering or medium brass brush before washing the part...mostly to loosen any thing chunk on it and ready the surface with Plastic Prep (mostly alcohol cleaner). Primer with one or two layers and wet sand with about 800-1200 grit...just lightly to scratch the surface and remove the overspray. Rinse with clean water and wipe the surface with a tack cloth. Spray on your color coats. As with the primer coat, apply enough coats to hide the underlying color. Wet sand in-between each coat to help with adhesion.
