Painted my valve cover, now give me a cookie! Pics inside!
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I have taken some pictures and when you see the end result, please forward cookies to my place. Chocolate chip.

Here is a pic of the valve cover. AT this point, I have done nothing to it to clean it or prepare it.
And another angle
Yet another angle
And after some Foamy Engine Bright, Sandpaper, and a dremel with sanding discs,
A few days later, and about 6 coats of paint from all different angles,
From the side,
And after I cleaned off the SOHC VTEC part,
Well, what do you think?! I couldn't wait until after reinstalling to post.

im not sure how he did it but usually i just take some light grit sand paper and then just rub the paint off the top of the letters. this leaves the paint on the sides and none on the top. no taping and no steady hand involved

Vaseline...for more then jacking off!
Use the lube where you do not want paint to get, it sticks stays put, and is very easy to work with.

hahahahaahhaha....hey no jacking off, God kills kittens when you do that!
One thing you gotta do when you use vasoline is remove it before the paint dries too hard. Otherwise the paint on top of the vasoline will tear off the paint around the vasoline, creating a shitty look. I gotta redo mine now because of that. That and my painting skills suck *****.

Re: (Slaughter)
I used Chap Stick for the letters and highpoints and was able to just scrape it off with my fingernail after I let the paint sit for a few days.
I was going to use the Wrinkle paint from Pep Boys but they were out of black and I thought red would be a little bit much for the car its going into, so I chose a black from Home Depot. It is just Rust-oleum Textured in black of course. Model number 7220 BLACK is what it says on the bar code.
I'll post some installed pics, but we won't see how it's holding up to engine temps until I get my license back in May. I can't wait!
