Re: paint question... (BIGmike_99)
Are you having a shop paint it?? Or are you going to paint it yourself. Any napas around you? They can mix paint up for you. But if you are going to do all your prep work, and then bring it to a shop, unless you have someone with experience guiding you, its gonnna look shitty. Plus, the shop has paint, and if you bring them paint they aren't use to painting with, they might say see ya. Either way, you'd need at least a gallon, plus you'll need primer, and clear on top of that. There is a Finish Master by me, don't know if they are national, but they mix up paint, and can get you all the good stuff. Theres also Macco, but i have yet to see a nice paint job from them. Just remember unless you have the connections, you'll get what you pay for, 3000 for a new paint job is not ridicoulus at all. Good luck with whatever you try though.

When my dad and I repainted my car a few months ago, we got 2 gallons. That was enough for about 4 coats.

to paint the exterior of a car it should not take a gallon of color...2-3 coats top its just about coverage...the paint it self isnt supposed to be shiney it should just cover the entire car...clear on the other hand...thats up to you the more clear the better the paint job so i would say less than 3 qts of paint and i'd say a gallon of clear. if you have any questions just PM me
