Default paint chipped part of CF hood or leave it??

I just epoxied the chipped corner of my CF hood back on and sanded it as smooth as it'll get. Do you think I should spray paint the chipped corner and local area black or leave it? I have the spray can ready but now I'm doubting if I should paint it or leave it so that some pattern is still there (even though it's kinda messed up).

imo.. i hate the look of cf....cf is pretty.. n shiny..

but it should just be functional, not something to show off...

i like it when ppl paint the cf hoods the same color of the car, you only know its cf when u lift it up :-D

so what your telling me is that for all the money that you spend on carbon fiber you would just want to cover it up??..yes it is a pretty weight redution [not my best choice of words this past week] but i think it looks great just the way you get it right out of the box....

think about this: what would you rather buy??
a part that is nice new shiny and pretty AS IS..OR!!..a part that is crappy and dull and looks like everyother product out their that does that same job..same concept can be applied to such items as cam gears..which is why some companys make them in different colors and or finishes besides just a machined look..

if your carbon fiber hook gets chipped... how do you treat it so it doesnt start to unravle?(right choice of words?)

mines got a small crack but i heard they fall apart if its not treated or something...

the corner got chipped off during shipping, so the last inch in the corner was seperate. i used epoxy to connect it back on and fill the broken clear coat then sanded it as close as possible. my camera's been shitty lately, so here's the best pic i have of it:

EDIT:: as you can see, stress from the chipping left 4 crack lines on the hood itself. i was trying to claim it as shipping damage to UPS but they haven't gotten back to me in 5 months so i said f*ck it due to the carbon shortage and patched it.

yeah i claimed it the day they delivered it. everyone says they're supposed to get back to you within a month, but it's been 5 months. every case that goes beyond 4 months is normally closed, regardless of what the claimer says.

lucky you. well the hood was covered by my car insurance since i had the body shop sneak it in to their fees instead of the OEM hood. so it's technically a free hood >_> but regardless, what do you think? paint it or leave it?
