Paddle shifter 94 ej2
I know that these have been around, but never really seen them on anything other than BWWs, Mercedes and higher priced cars. Seeing it on a s14 and evo made me think i could go on my civic. How hare would you say it is to install these? I think it will make track days a little better being that both hands will improve steering control and such and im pretty sure you wont miss any gears. opinions please...link is the parts in action...

i dont have any idea how u would do that. Paddle shifting will only work on automatics. So how would u miss gears with an auto anyway?

Silly kids these days.
You add this to an after market steering wheel. This will be the next best thing if you want paddle shift. CHEAP TOO!!!
LOL on a Civic.

Re: Paddle shifter 94 ej2
i saw the forum thing and he did it with a auto tranny. I watched the vid, its basically bullshit. So somehow it shifts the transmission and pushes the clutch for you at the same time? If you want **** like that then buy a ****ing automatic.

Re: Paddle shifter 94 ej2
^^^lol..dude you are funny. did you read the paragraph before the vids? i think not. as it clearly stats, "It becomes possible to make existing manual mission to 2 pedals paddle shift." and i actually talk to someone at the company and he said that you will still have the option to turn switch it off and acually use the clutch/shifter.
"So somehow it shifts the transmission and pushes the clutch for you at the same time?"
The answer: As the shift/select/clutch is activated in accordance with the operating volume of paddle,
the driver can control shift speed control/clutch at hand(paddle).
way better than an automatic...read before you make useless comments

Re: Paddle shifter 94 ej2
jimster...just because you dont think it works after reading it or its a waste to you, is your opinion. like i said, after reading, i wanted to know exactly how it works, so i called. and as far as the cosmetic, non-working one, i figured that much. but atleast he had something. to actually see that somebody has come up with a way to add it to a manual gearbox, is pretty f***in mean, dont you think.

I can imagine it would have to be pretty hard and pretty complex. Especially if it is going to let you have the ability to manually shift and use the clutch pedal.

Re: Paddle shifter 94 ej2
Lol..I contacted one of the mechanics at that shop and basically he said it wouldnt be as bad as you would think. He said usually its around 1500 for the complete swap. But for a civic it will be a little more because they havent done that yet. Only thing that they have done to a civic is the sequential. I really want to buy this kit and try to install, but i know i dont have the knowledge or patience for it.
