p72 obd2b immobilizer question
Hello, I have a 98 civic with a 99 b18c1 that came with a p73 ecu, looking to replace it with a p72 obd2b ecu.. I heard that I have to go to acura dealer to have the key reprogrammed or I can just buy a harness.. if I bought a obd2b to obd2a harness, would it work? Or would I need a obd2b to obd1 harness? Please help thank you.

Re: p72 obd2b immobilizer question
OBD2B Integra ECU has immobilizer. No 00 or older Civic does. Due to this, the easiest fix is to get an OBD2A ECU from an OBD2A Integra.

If your car is in fact a 98 civic, it is already set up OBD2A. Just get an OBD2A GSR ECU, or an OBD2A to OBD1 Jumper harness and an OBD1 ECU...

obd2a p72 ecu.. thank you guys so much, this has been bothering me for a long time.. i thought my car boggling on the freeway was due to using a different ecu, but adjusted the throttle position sensor and everything is good.. will get the ecu soon.. thanks again folks!
