P30 Pistons
As I understand these came in the JDM 2nd gen B16A, right? A guy on G2IC recently discovered that the 1999-00 Civic Si used a piston with a P30 part number. Is this true, or do they use the PR3?

Re: P30 Pistons (JDMDA9)
they're basically the same motor,so i would guess they do use the same piston.
CIVIC > 1999 > 2DR SI > 5MTKA > ENGINE > CRANKSHAFT-PISTON
13010-P30-G00 PISTON SET (STD) $52.18

Re: P30 Pistons (JDMDA9)
a friend of mine just bout a 2nd gen B16A Auto (Del Sol VTEC?).. pulled the head and it has P30 pistons. im guessing the jdm version b16's have P30 and US have PR3

Re: P30 Pistons (TeamNextGenChris)
They might be "Basically" the same, but the 99 Si is 10.2:1 compression whereas the second gen JDM B16 is 10.4:1. The pistons are slightly higher domed on the JDM engines compared to the US. Far as I know, the piston I pulled out of my SI was casted as "PR3"..in fact, I am holding it right now. Clearly stamped into the top "PR 3". Interestingly enough I have it in the box the replacement piston came in and it has a P30 part number. I do recall however that the piston was casted as PR 3.

Re: P30 Pistons (Hybrid93Eg)
Thanks for the posts, guys. That SL Honda is a good site, never seen it before.
Anyway, I also found this part number for the '97 Del Sol, all other years were PR3s:
13010-P2P-000 PISTON SET (STD) $41.27
Wonder what that one is? Probably a PR3, too...
I don't understand why Honda would list the replacement pistons for the Si as a P30 part number. That sucks ***, but I guess it can't be that easy tpo get he P30s.
Again, thanks for helping me out and shedding some light on the subject.

P2P is an EX part number. So I am assuming you looked up the Del Sol Si. Couldn't tell you why the part number has a P30 in it, but I can tell you I know for sure they are PR3's. I blew my **** up and had it apart. I remember exactly what it had.
