I have a p2e ecu from a 00 EK. I was wondering if i need to get one that is from a manual or do can i get one from a Auto?

Whats it going in? If its going in a manual get a manual, if its going in an automatic get an automatic.

I have a cell code and need to change out the ecu. I just want the code to go away. Already tested it with my friends ecu and it solved the problem but i just dont want to get hosed when i go to get another ecu.

You are going to throw an automatic cel if you use an auto ecu, but it will run ur car.

and on top of that make sure you get the one for your year.96-98 are obd2a and 99-00 are obd2b. that makes a differance also.
