Default P28 Vs. P72 (OBD-1)

let's here the advantages and disadvantages between these two ECU's for a GSR swap in a civic.

i've searched and didn't come up with much.

i'm debating if i should just look around for a P72 or just find a P28 and get it chipped for my B18C1 swap.

if you want to run the stock intake manifold, you NEED to run a p72 to activate the secondary intake runners. if you plan to run a skunk2/jg/etc manifold you can run a chippped p28. also, with a chipped p28, you dont need to wire up the knock sensor

yeah, depends on what you want to do with your car.if you plan to keep the stock intake mani, get a P72.if you plan on changing to a standard style mani, get a chipped P28.you can run your car off the P28 with the stock manifold until you get the aftermarket one on-the IAB will stay open all the time.you definately don't want to use the P72 with a standard style manifold-i did for a while with a Skunk2 mani until i got a P30.the difference was amazing.

Yeah...chipped P28 you will definitely feel a difference...at least with my experience, but you'll have to ditch the **** GSR manifold and the IAB's. Its definitely worth it though...skunk2 mani + Kenji P28 =
