p28 keeps blowing ecu fuse, HELP
Ok lets start this off with this.
I bought a 92 civic SI
the harness on it was ALL spliced up n stuff, so i just got a new harness and rewired it.
also whoever did the alarm for some reason wired the alarm into the ecu harness as well, cause on a obd1 ecu i believe in A and B or was it A and D plugs? well 2 of the 3 there is a yellow/black wire goin to it, im guessing ECU power.
but he bypassed that, and ran a wire to both of em from thefusebox intertwined with the alarm.
so now what happens was a wire was loose on the alarm, which shorted out the system, blew the ecu fuse, and most likely fried the p28 as well because the power wasnt gettn cut from the fuse box since it was bypassed for the alarm.
so my question is. what would be the 1st thing to go on the ecu, i dont wanna buy a new ecu, if i could diagnose which part of the ecu fried ill just replace it.
it does not smell burnt, no black spots. it just everytime i plug it in, and start the ignition, the ecu fuse blows. like theres a short on the ecu. cause if i plugin my p05 it runs fine, i drove it on the p05 the past day.
Any suggestions?
