p28 issues please read!!!
 
i have a 1990 civic that has a d16z6 head on it and i converted all the wiring to a obd1 from a obd0 i have a p28 in the car and i just bought a spoon chip and put it in.. the job was done right and all and all the components were added to the mother board of the ecu but for some reason the chip was supposed to take the rev limiter off and when the check engine light doesnt come on the engine stops reving at like 5k rpm but when the car is running for a lil while and the check engine light comes on stating that the vss
(vehicle speed sensor) is malfunctioning thats when the spoon chip takes effect and it acts the way its supposed too making the cars rev limiter at 10000 and making vtec hit at 4400 any ideas as to what i can do to fix that?

take out the chip. Those pre programmed chips are garbage, they always malfunction and are not vehicle specific. If you want to have those thigs done and an increase in hp, you should get the ecu chipped with crome and have it tuned. You will be much happier with the results.

10,000rpm rev limiter are you crappin me!? take that junk chip outa there. like was already said get it tuned the right way. what your doing sounds like a good way to severly diminish the life-span of your engine.

i mean i never bring it any where past the stock rev limiter the only reason that i thought i should put the chip in is because i wanted vtec to hit a lower rpm and now the chip had vtec hitting at 4400 instead of the stock 5600

you realize making vtec engage lower is causing you to lose power. from the factory the stock vtec crossover is designed to give you the most power. the power band starts to taper off with the lower cam profile at around 5600, then the vtec cam profile takes over and its power band is most efficient from 5600 and higher. if you engage vtec lower you drop out of the peak power band and also get into the higher cam profile too early.
