Default P28 auto vs manual

Is there a quick way to tell if the P28 ecu is from an auto or manual? I'm in the market for a hondata and need a p28. I heard the auto's don't work very well, is this true? Anyone have a virgin or hondata prepped p28 for sale?

the way you can tell if its an automatic or 5spd is the last letter and 2 numbers after it says p28 (I.E. p28-A52) thats an automatic, and 5spd i believe is A02 and im not sure which is better for hondata..
