I currently drive a 2000 Honda Civic DX automatic. I am looking at trying to fix this CEL. I do live in Minnesota so it could be possible that the Service bulletin would apply but the local honda dealer wants 120 to diagnose it and then will not garuntee that honda will do a goodwill repair especially seeing my wife had, most of the repairs done at a mom and pop place where she grew up.

I have been doing a lot of reading on this and other sites and see multiple different solutions. Can someone help with the details of removing this as in where it is located and then I can hook it up to 12V to see if it clicks and is still good or if there is a way to test this with out removing it?

Another side note is I have been trying to listen for pressure in my fuel tank and have not heard the hiss that used to be there when removing the gas cap.


Any help will be greatly appreciated I have an additional problem that maybe unrelated but will post in another thread. I have the rough idle problem often talked about and the shop told me idle air control motor error code (they didn't give me a number though).

It is black with a black connector with a vacuum line going to the carcoal canister. It is very close to the IACV that I have pictured in your other thread.
