p1366 camshaft tdc sensor no 2
On my 2000 civic i am getting the error code listed in the topic title. Does this mean that the crank and cam are not at TDC or does this mean that sensor no. 2 is not reporting to the ecu. Does anyone have any insight on where to begin trouble shooting?

hand crank the motor to TDC. Check to see if the crank and cam are both at TDC. Timing might be off by a tooth or 2.

Re: p1366 camshaft tdc sensor no 2 (sped rcr)
I had my timing belt changed roughly one year ago by a mechanic, correct me if i am wrong, but, once the cams are at tdc, and the crank is at TDC and the timing belt is then installed, there should be no way that they would fall out of alignment.
Side note:> Do i need to remove spark plugs in order to make adjustsments to TDC? Or would it be best to see my local mechanic? (This is a gray-area, and i can see myself getting ripped off)

It's possible that a belt may slip a tooth or two, but I doubt it. You wont need to remove the spark plugs. I don't know how to hand crank the motor. Hopefully someone else will post up how to do that.
If you find out how to hand crank the motor and everything looks like its lined up I would reccomend seeing a mechanic if you really have no idea what you're doing. Better to have a mechanic fix it instead of you messing something else up, then having 2 or 3 problems on your hand.

Ok, thanks for your help, which brings me to my next question. Will there be any negative affects to driving this vehicle in the current state.. (i.e.bent valves.) and is there a possibilty that the sensor failed too?

If the timing is really whacked out there is a chance that you're valves could get screwed up. You haven't changed anything in the motor have you? New Cam gear or cam?
If you haven't messed with the motor at all there is a very good chance that the sensor could have gone bad.
I wouldn't worry too much about the driveability of the car if you haven't messed with anything, but I would recommend going to a mechanic to get a professional opinion and maybe have that sensor replaced.

I turned the crank to check if my timing belt was snapped. Do I have to return everything back to TD
