P06 ecu on B18B = Very bad for the engine??
I'm running my 97 B18B with a p06 ecu from a DX EG...
I know it's running pretty rich..
Is that bad for the engine??
How slower the B18B/P06 is compared with the proper ecu(P75)??
cause I've got no power under 4K RPM...
tanx!
(BTW my english sucks a lot )

I've actually seen a dyno sheet of a B20B (same thing as B18B, but bigger bore) on a stock P06 DX ECU outpower the P75 ECU.
In your case it might be different.
As far as running rich goes, I'd think the DX ECU would actually run a bit on the lean side - are you getting any check engine lights?

Yeah I'm running the same setup. Worse yet I am running both the DX ECU and fuel pump. I had a Walbro pump and a P75 ECU and they both went out on me. I just picked up a 95 GSR fuel pump to replace the DX unit. But overall my car sucks *** below 4k and after 20-30 minutes of street driving the check engine light comes on. I pulled the code and it comes up ECU.
I highly doubt you're running rich. It's probably very lean. You may wanna add a fuel pressure regulator to add some fuel PSI. I know that's what I'm planning on doing this weekend.

I'm going to change the map on the p06(B18B Mapping)...there's a guy who is doing this kind of thing here....
but i'm road racing then drag racing tonight(Hard night for my car)...just don't want to worried about the engine and my time slips...
I far as I know, my engine is running rich cause my eyes are itching when the engine is running in a close place( Someone told me that when the eyes are itching a lot it's cause it's running rich...isn't??)...
the fuel mapping are different on both ecu but the D15 have smaller injectors...so...it's not because the engine is bigger that it's running lean..no??
and isn't supose to be faster when it's leaner...cause under 4K RPM, the car is sssooo slow!!...??

civic and teg injectors are the same... it has nothing to do with that
the p06 is way leaner than the p75/74
just chip it with a p75 program and you will be fine... if you need the stuff to do it check my sig

I had the same prob as you, I had a stock DX ecu on my 99 LS, I did buy a P75 ECU but didn't notice a big difference in power, only a higher redline. I would assume that until you gte a bigger fuel pump or a FPR then you wouldn't notice a difference.

Re: P06 ecu on B18B = Very bad for the engine?? (lowexr)
I'm having the same problem after getting my b18b put in running on the P06 ecu. The car boggs really bad when accelerating untill 4k rpm then it will run ok. If I get a P75 ecu will it just plug in or will I have to fab something up? My friend has a PR4 obd 1 ecu and it would not plug into my ecu harness. Also my CEL is on and its throwing the O2 sensor code. I'm running on open header cause it wouldnt line up w/ my exhaust could that cause the O2 code to come up?
