Hi everyone I have a 96 civic ex coupe with a/t I'm having a problem with the battery draining overnight I've done a parasitic draw test after pulling all the fuses and got nothing still have got a 2.88 amp draw from something not sure where to go now if anyone has had this problem or can point me in the right direction would be appreciated

2.88 amps is HUGE. Did you mean amps or milliamps?

That's not parasitic drain. That's a colossal short to ground.

Check the battery and alternator cables as well as hood fuse box for a short to ground. Should be easy to find using a multimeter.

Yeah that's what I thought too I've pulled all of fuses under hood under dash disconnected starter and alternator also replaced with a new battery and cleaned up all ground wires

Where did you disconnect them^? At the starter and alternator or at the hood fuse box?

With all fuses removed from the hood fuse box, did you test the (+) battery side of each fuse receptacle in the box for a short?

I unplugged the alternator green plug and disconnected ground and positive to the starter and as for the fues box under the hood i removed them one by one

Please read my posts carefully. Disconnect the large starter and alternator cables at the hood fuse box and then retest for the 2-amp "drain".

Disconnecting the two cables to the fuse box under the hood now I have no positive to the fuse box

The fuse box gets voltage from the battery, not from the starter or alternator. Post pictures showing exactly what you disconnected.

Disregard the negative cable off to save some juice

You lost voltage to the fuse box because one of the cables you removed comes from the (+) battery post.

Disconnect the (+) battery connector and also the alternator and battery cable attached to the hood fuse box. Use a battery jumper cable to jump voltage from the (+) battery post to the hood fuse box battery bolt to bypass the starter cable. Then check for the 2-amp short.

I'll perform this test they you just posted when i get back home Tuesday but i know for sure when i removed cable T101 alternator side with (+) to fuse box i didn't have the 2 amp short

Battery post to fuse box connect and alternator cable from fuse box disconnected had little to none amp draw

By removing the battery post, you remove battery voltage to the fuse box, hence no drain. Do the test I mentioned.

Ok I'll do the test you mentioned this coming Tuesday when i get home

The battery will not die out as long as you remove the positive battery cable.

I had the same problem but intermittent, it was a pain in the ****, tried pulling all the fuses still draining at the same rate, turned out to be the air conditioning relay (it runs a heater apparently) which was intermittently sticking on and draining at a hell of a rate, easily enough to drain the battery overnight.
I swapped the relay for the horn relay (same type fortunately) and that cured it, the good thing is if the horn stuck on .....well you'd certainly know about it
