Default overheating is really getting me mad

h22 in a 92 civic
my car overheats periodically like i have a slow leak somewhere. i cannot find it!.
it happens about once a month i find coolant all over the driverside block and ac.
Im getting really pissed because i dont understand where it could be coming from.
everything else is dry!!! the only thing remotely around there is the water pump but it cant shoot from the back of the block to the front.

I dont think its the head gasket cause i havent seen any mixture.
although i have been getting some smoke out of the tailpipe. i figured its regular.

any suggestions.

update!!!!

it appears that the guy who sold me this motor know about this becasue there is some sort of bondo or jbweld on the block. i thought it was just on there for no reason.
apparently there is a crack in the block which he conviently forgot to tell me about.
now it has sprung a leak (probably due to the cold weather).

so do you think i shoudl just patch it back up with more jb weld?

or just sell the car?

i spent too much on this project anyway

it is located underneath the header.

You should go to the guy you bought
the motor from, and take the block upside his head.
Tell him about it and a) try to get your money back or,
b) get him to replace it for you.

i never even met him. i bought it through a friend of a friend.
anyhow. ive been driving and racing the car like this for about 4 months with no issues. do you think i could get it welded or something.

I should have known something was up when he sold me the whole h22 swap for 800 dollars(motor/tranny)

wow. you got a deal.
Go get an h23 block and throw it in. Cheap as hell, bolts in, more displacement. End of story.
If you can't find one for under $300, you're retarded. lol You should be able to find a shortblock for like $200 or less. Get a head gasket and some fluids and you're done.

Of course there are welders in NY who will work with aluminium. You obviously haven't searched very hard.
