overheating question
Ok so the other day my car overheats, no hot air from heater, bottom radiator hose cool, top hot and hard. Thermostat right? Well I changed it with a failsafe one that locks open if it goes bad. Put it in started car, topped everything off. was still blowing cool for a few. turned it off, let it cool, topped it off again. next day I was driving around all day with heat at normal temp. Then all of a sudden the temp goes way up, not to the red but pretty damn high(fan is on). Heat is still working so I know its not the Tstat. after a few it drops to normal. runs normal for a few then jumps back up till I got home. what could be wrong? please help me out.....

No heat from the heater = air in the core. You need to make sure the heater is set to "hot" when you are filling and bleeding the system, otherwise you are going to have this issue. Trust me, there is still air in that system.

Re: (Hybrid93Eg)
you could have a blockage in your heater core. easiest way to clear is to flush your system with a cooling system flush product. read directions on bottle and flush, flush, flush.

Then come out after some time/in the morning, and check if there is coolant under the car. It could be leaking somewhere. Also check if you have coolant on your carpet, it might be your heater core.

also, did you have the heater on the hottest blowing the hardest ? it has to flow thorugh the heater core also.
