first try your thermo switch...maybe your fan comes on too late?

does it only happen at idle?

i think your thermostat is workin....tryt wiring your fan to a switch so that its on all the time...if that doesnt work...my guess..its prolly a leaky headgasket

same problem here...i just ordered sum arp headstuds and an oem headgasket

when your gasket is leaking, it leaks exhaust gases into your coolant which makes it boil...and what happens next is similar to what u been noticing, get it?

i popped open my radiator cap and i had no coolant in there , i know for a fact i havent been leaking any cause i park in a garage , which leads me to believe maybe i have developed a crack in my radiator over the weekend(parked outside in the rain and cant see any leaks)

Yup, I have a similar problem. Before my car is even warmed up (about 2 minutes after I start it up) my temp needle shoots the the very top H. Then it falls back down when I'm stopped, then shoots way up when I go again. hmm.

I had a similar problem with mine too--after checking/changing all the obvious things--i swapped in a new radiator and its been fine ever since--older honda rads are prone to calcium deposits

i forgot to add in my first post that i also put in a new double core radiator it is not much thicker than a stock single core but has better cooling capacity which means the cooling fan does not have to run as much,at least thats what i was told!

the headgasket is brand new , only 4 months old.....and im getting no white smoke or anything , for some reason the coolant is being pushed into the resivior tank making it overflow!!!!!

my upper hose is hot hot , like too hot to grab and hold .
and my lower is just warm , i can hold it , does that mean my thermostat is gone??

you might have air pockets trapped in the coolant system. check your fan to see if it come on after it warmed up.
