Overheating ....maybe??
Hey i have a 94 si with the stock d16z6. Whenever i turn the car on, within 20 seconds the engine is EXTREMELY HOT. When i look at the temperature gauge it seems to be fine. The car NEVER gives me problems and it has not knocked or done anything wrong i'm just curious why it gets so hot especially so quickly.
Just to give you and example this morning i woke up and the turned the car on for the first time in the day and i just let it idle a little bit, and within a minute or so it was as hot as if i were running around all day. The thermostat has never been changed and i will do that this weekend, maybe that will fix it.
Thanks

sounds like u got a faulty thermostat...like you said. if it takes a long time for the engine to warm up it prob. means the thermostat is stuck open. if the engine is hot use your hand to check the temperature of the upper radiator hose. if the hose isn't hot, but the engine is, the thermostat is problably stuck closed.
