Alright I'm overheating, mostly at slow speeds or when stopped, and after about 1/2 hour of driving, while driving, on hot days...
I've replaced my radiator, several hoses, thermostat, fan switch, and fan relay and still it is overheating. Am I looking at something more serious??? What's the next thing to throw some money at???

hum... any leaks? maybe blown head gasket? did you do a coolant bleed? just somethings to think about.

how old is your water pump? could be going bad or is already.

There doesn't appear to be any leaks right now. I had one the other day, but replaced the hose. I can't find any other ones now. The fan works yes.

Try rebleeding the system. I hope you're using an OEM thermostat because aftermarket ones are junk.

Are you kidding me? It's a spring and a valve. All it has to do is expand when it warms up. Not too hard to design.

I have heard different i bought a thermostat that didnt have a jiggle pin and all my car did was overheat went to honda and bought the correct one they looked exactly the same except for the jiggle pin and my car has not overheated since so i dont think they are all the same

The thermostat was bought at the Honda dealer.

Is the radiator and resovoir tank staying filled or do you keep having to refill it? I had a leak in a heater core hose that I couldn't track down. Maybe check there if it's not holding any coolant.

They seem to be staying filled just fine. I had to add some last week when I replaced the hose, but otherwise it has been fine in that department.

yeah kragen thermostats are junk. i had many problems with them so i just stick with oem stuff

Not sure why you would replace the fan relay and fan switch, unless the fan was not switching on. You said the fan works, does that mean it is switching on when the engine gets hot or just that the fan runs when you supply a current? Low speed or idle overheating without overheating on the freeway is often related to the fan.

My overheating problem ended up being the head gasket, but it's not too hard to replace. Also, I've been running on Kragen thermostat for years with no problem.

probably, but not sure. if the thermostat is working, heat can go through all the water in your whole coolant system. while driving, the coolant in the radiator is being cooled. so even if your water pump is bad (or not working) you could be just running warm but not overheating... just a possibility.

The thermostat had better be in correctly since I paid a mechanic to do it. He suggested I replace the fan switch being that it is a cheap part, blah blah blah, so I had him do that. I had noticed when I started it up and let it sit a while the fan did not turn on until it really got warm (nearly in the red). That's why I switched out the relay. When I supply current to the fan it does work.
I have attempted to fix the problem mostly on my own, but my ignorance has persuaded me to go to a mechanic which is against my extremely cynical nature in respect to auto mechanics. After taking it in he replaced the radiator, fan switch, and thermostat (even though the radiator and thermostat in there were fairly new and I informed him of that fact and let him know that I did not think it was the radiator or thermostat). The guy was supposed to be honest according to my reference sources (family), but I'm having a hard time finding trust in the guy. Maybe I'm overly cynical, but I would think that a good mechanic could diagnose and treat a problem without troubleshooting my money away.
At any rate that's where we're at now. At this point it appears to be either a bad pump or a head gasket.
