Default Overheating issue

Ok i have a 98 ex that i was told had a leak in the radiator when i bought it. So i bought and installed a new radiator, hoses, thermo and thermo gasket. When i went to replace the thermostat gasket it was all deteriorated and im assuming that was the source of my leak. I still went ahead and replaced the radiator and hoses and thermostat to rule out any other possibilities. After i was done i went to drive the car to see if it was good, and the issue isnt as bad now but its still hotter then it should be. When i went to start my car again i was getting smoke out the exhaust and smelt antifreeze. I do have a check engine light on too so my next thing is guna be to investigate that. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks in advance

Ok so now my car has a searching idle problem on startup. When i turn on the car it rumbles as if its low on gas, and the check engine light blinks. At the same time the rpm is searching between 500-2k. Any help? Thanks a ton
