Default Overheating at highway speeds

I have a weird problem with my 00 civic ex. First off its completely stock. When traveling on long road trip about 50 or more miles @ 85mph the temp slowly starts to creep warmer. The only way I can remedy the problem temporarily is to switch on the heater, or slow down about 20mph less. In trying to fix the problem I have changed the thermostat and water pump. The problem still persist. I think there may be air in the line. I have done plenty of research both online and in the service manual. I can't seem to find the coolant bleed screw on a D16Y8 engine. Its not on the upper left side of the head as posted on some forums. Can some out there post a picture or point me in the right direction please. Maybe there could be another issue I have overlooked. Thanks in advance!!!!

Sounds like you may need a new radiator. I had the same problem, my radiator had major rust damge on the botom that I could not see (driving on the beach with a low car). Have you been loosing coolant also? Check all hoses that lead to the radiator for leakes and inspect the entire system for problems. Good luck, I know how you feel, it sucks!

you don't have a bleed screw on your car....
remove radiator cap (while cold), start car and run till fan comes on twice adding coolant as needed. replace cap and fill reservoir

your radiator also could be clogged up with crud in the cooling fins(dead bugs, dirt, ect) take it in to a car was pop the hood and pressure wash the radiator from the back side to blow any crud out of the cooling fins. I can't tell you the number of times I have done this and fixed the type of overheating that you are having

yeah your radiator COULD be clogged....

take out the drain plug, drain the water and put your mouth on top and blow. Does it go through? if yes, check water pump. if no, replace radiator.
