okay so i got 1998 honda civic ek coupe ex. It has started overheating lately but only does in 75 degree plus weather and i have to drive it around for probably 15-20 minutes for it do start overheating. replaced thermostat and also drained and replaced coolant. Ive been told my a mechanic its probably the head gasket? not sure if thats it so is there anything else i could replace or anyway i can determine if it is head gasket? thank you in advance

First off, you don't have an EK. You have an EJ8. Yes, it matters. If your mechanic thinks it's the head gasket, he should be able to do a block test to confirm. Or you can rent the tool from your local parts store, and do it yourself.

When you replaced the coolant, did you let the engine idle and look for leaks? Check all hoses, and the top of the radiator near the cap. It's common for those to crack.

If you wish this thread to remain open, describe how you bled the cooling system and your results with the block tester. Otherwise, let your mechanic solve the problem.
