OVERHEATING EG Sedan

OVERHEATING EG Sedan
I looked and looked but still no new idea on what’s causing the over heating
the list of things I’ve replaced is
water pump
headgasket
manifold gasket
cleaned the mani. and throttle body
Thermostat and it’s gasket
the next thing I’m about to do is flush the radiator and bleed the system
if that doesn’t work I’m just set the car on fire since it wants to heat up please help I’m not a master mech but I do know a thing or two

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
Try jumping the fan so it's always on.
Does it over heat if the fan is always running?

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
I did
Put a paper clip on the connections
My fans still kicks in when i had the relay on
one thing I noticed is that my temp gauge barely goes half way and then the canister starts to boil
could it be a sensor problem?

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
Sounds like a bad rad cap.
1.1 bar (16PSI) radiator cap helps raise the boiling temperature of the 50/50 water/coolant. The coolant mix boils faster without the pressure. Just like straight water boils faster than 50/50 mix. While pure coolant reduces thermal transfer and allows motor to get too hot.

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
i had the same thing in a celica different car but almost all cooling system are the same concept. Found out in the end it was probably a warped head. I could of taken it to a shop to get the head resurfaced and it doesn't cost much i just didnt at the time cuz i didnt really understand engines at the time. Another $100-$300 you basically have a new car after that.

+1 with TomCat39's radiator cap suggestion. Assuming that the system was properly bled during the recent coolant system work and that the tstat was correct.

I did bleed it and I flushed the radiator
what I noticed is that the radiator keeps bubbling when I have the cap off
im thinking the head maybe warped

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
If by canister you are referring to the overflow resevoir, then it sounds like a rad cap to me as well. Or at least I'd replace that first being only a $10 part. When the temp gauge is only halfway there shouldn't be enough pressure in the system to collapse the spring in the cap.

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
I’ll get a cap tomorrow the and see if that changes
as of right now this is the highest the temp gauge goes any higher and it starts to bubble up in the overflow reservoir

Re: OVERHEATING EG Sedan
So I bypassed the fan so it stays on with a paper clip and so far it’s just burning some oil that’s leaking
It hasn’t been hot where I’m from lately so let’s hope it’s doesn’t heat up when it does get hot
will update later
