Default Overheating with bubbling/splashing rad. fluid

Yeah so my car kinda overheats but yesterday is got bad. Even with the heat at full blast, the temp kept climbing. ( I have an aftermarket temp guage as well as the dummy one). My mechanic neighbor began looking at it and noticed the coolant bubbles and splashed from the radiator top opening when the engine is on. Sound like a headgasket or??

BTW 98 civic dx

could be make sure your oil is not milky looking, or see if your puffing white smoke. if it is head gasket car will sputter a little till water is cleared out the engine make sure your cap and thermostat are good. good luck

Ok. Oil has been ok. No sputtering, no smoke ever.

Could be waterpump, radiator cap, thermostat, fan switch, so many other thins. Air in coolant, etc. Try somw of these and let us know what happens. Most of these parts are very inexpensive and work it to replace. Good luck.

same problem. 2 things to make sure. 1. yur thermo is not in upside down. and sumone correct me if im wrong and i prolly am. but that little bead thing on the thermo should be facing upward. and then bleed yur coolant line. on the top left of head. the neck for the radiator hose. tkae that bleeder and open it up. then poor sum coolant in yur radiator. untill it starts flowing out nicely without any bubbles. then close it. runn a sec. and then check it again. make sure u check all yur coolant lines too. yur IACV lines on the back and shyt. cuz if one of them is cut. you might leak and suck air.
