Default overflowing power stearing

a week or 2 ago i noticed my PS rack was leaking from one side.... so it got me thinking rather i actually need PS or not.... well yesterday when the hood was open i heard a slight "bad bearing" sound from the PS pump so i pulled the belt off today to see if i can live without PS.... drive went ok (may just need to go to the gym).... well when i go back i poped the hood an theres was PS fluid everywhere (from the bottle).... is that normal for driving with the pump not running or is there really something wrong with the pump

If you have power steering on the car, you need the pump. Without it, you`ll pretty much destroy the rack. If the rack is leeaking, than you need to change it. If the pump is bad, then obviously, you need to change that too.

If you have the know how, you could convert your steering to manual.

You can that too, but I don`t know the specifics of how to do it. Search the forum..
