overflow MYSTERY
Okay guys, i need help.
I've rebuilt my engine
B16A2 CRX DEL SOL.
It was rebuilt because i could, the previous problems with the motor was severe rust, crankshaft appeared damaged. Flywheel was missing a tooth? lol.
Otherwise everything was normal common sense, all gaskets (OEM), Pistons, pumps etc. EVERYTHING lol. Machine shop did a fair share of work too.
Now the problem is, i'm limited. Im in Turkey and my Turkish isn't 100% so i need to explain everything to a mechanic in like broken down Turkish which makes it really hard lol.
My car has a stupid *** problem, now as we know the over flow bottle is suppose to fill up to a certain point, mine doesn't stop. Even when i turn off the car, i can see IT'S STILL PUSHING WATER into the OVER FILLED overflow bottle.
It get's to the point where it leaks out, eventually it ends up leaking so much out that the car begins to over heat first the fan stops functioning (obviously when there's no coolant lol).
The HEAD GASKET IS FINE! i have pulled apart the motor and RE CHECKED everything i cannot see anything, nothing is VISIBLE to the naked eye. I have checked it with a professional too.
What could cause this? Please, tell me. Give me an idea!!!
(this has been posted on another forum too)

Re: overflow MYSTERY
The radiator cap is suppose to provide seal on the radiator cap until a certain pressure is reached. Onced this pressure is reached a spring inside of the radiator cap should let a small amount of fluid into the reservoir.
2 things could be the problem.
1. The spring in the radiator cap is very week and not forming a good seal on that neck of radiator.
2. The radiator cap and the radiator that you have were not make to work together. The seat on the filler neck on the radiator might sit too low for the radiator cap to seal it.
When you install the radiator cap you should have to push down slightly compress a spring and then turn to lock it in place.
Good luck

Old Radiator + Cap:

New Radiator Cap:

(With the radiator itself when i changed it, i HAD to change the cap because the old one didn't fit, it uses like a THIN cap) Could this make a difference?
Should i find a DIFFERENT model radiator?

Re: overflow MYSTERY
Im not sure which radiator you should use but you need a good seal between the radiator cap and the radiator. You should be able to feel for this good seal.
