Default OVER HEATING CIVIC PLEASE HELP

ok, Im going to resend this again, my car is overheating, I replaced the thermostat, the lower radiator hose, the top is goo still, NO LEAKS, no WHITE SMOKE, new water pump is in. and the fluid level is up to level and has the right mixture of water and antifreeze. they say it could be the head gasket but it only starts over heating when I drive for long periods of time and only when im going up hill....any sugestions???

i suggest bleeding the system.. my way is.. drain all fluids.. pour fluids through top of radiator till fills up.. reconnec to radiator.. keep topping off the radiator do not put the cap on untill the fan goes on

you can also have a messed up radiator ..

on top of that, if you bought a thermostat from autozone or some other cheap parts store, it's very possible that it's defective. i personally have gotten 2, along with dozens of others. take it back, fork over the extra $6 and go get one from honda.

Could also be the thermoswitch - it tells the cooling fan to turn on -

Could also be a bad thermostat..

Here is what I would do (and btw please only make one thread....multiple threads are annoying)

1. Bleed the cooling system

if still overheating

2. Do a compression check (this will tell you if its the headgasket)

if everything is good...

3. Remove the thermostat (this did the trick for me in my boosted civic)

still overheating...

4. Replace the radiator (while ur at it u can upgrade to a dual core delsol for the same price )

Hope this helps. Also...it might be helpful to know what happens when u overheat (i.e. does it go straigt ot red...does it take a while...etc)

bleed the radiator, it's possible that corrosion has fucked up the radiator.

do you have any fuel mods, or other major mods???
You might be running lean. AKA Bad Air/Fuel Ratio. AKA more Fire than Fuel!
