out of winter storage...gsr civic dies out!
hey guys,
hope you can help me with this issue.
i brought my 2000gsr civic hatch out of storage a few weeks back.
initially it was idling funny out of storage but that was just normal after
a few months storage... ive since been just starting it a few times a week
for 5mins and letting it sit in the garage since i still have my winter beater...
on with the issue...
the past two days when i started my car it fired up fine..
after driving it around the block and turning it off and starting it again,
it wont start up. it just fires up, and IMMEDIATELY shuts off.
i fire it up again and it dies out again..only after a few tries it starts up again
and holds the idle.
what is the problem? could it be fuel pump? or jumped timing?!
(stock 2000gsr in 93civic; p08 ecu)
thanks
andy

when you start it and drive it around will the motor heat up normal? Does the car turn off after about 10 minutes of driving?
Because i got a 92 hatch with a 97 gs-r myself and my problem was that after starting it and driving about 10 minutes when the motor heats up the coil was not sending any signal. I got a brand new distrubutor and have'nt had a problem since.

no it doesnt die after 10minutes.
it goes to noraml temp and still drives.
would gas be a factor? i did top off a bit more than 3/4...almost a full tank
before storage and didnt tighten the gas call all the way. would moisture have
gotten in?

hhmmm.. well how long will the car run for? you have a p28 right? when turning the key to start postion do you hear something like the fuel pump not working? If you have a p28 do you have it tuned with anything? hondata? vafc?
