ot: Sponsorship
http://www.nira.com/2002/news/sponsorship/archive.html
Take a look at that if you are interested in trying to obtain sponsorship. It discusses:
Sponsorship marketing: Following up on leads
Sponsorship marketing: Attending trade shows
Sponsorship marketing: Preparing your proposal
Sponsorship marketing: Telephone communication
Sponsorship marketing: Adjusting and analyzing proposals
Sponsorship marketing: Selling sponsorships
Sponsorship marketing: More on networking
Sponsorship marketing column: Networking
Sponsorship marketing column: 20 basic steps you must learn
Really good info. I just used it to put together a new proposal for myself. Please, don`t send whacked proposals and jack sponsors, it hurts all of us in the long run.

Re: ot: Sponsorship (Emerica)
My friend Robert started racing his hatch at Palmdale 2 years ago. Started winning all the races in his class and slowly started to get approached by several companies. Now he gets basically everything for free. Sponsorships kick ***

Re: ot: Sponsorship
i like to keep my car sponsor/sticker free.
i dont like to have a thought of some company owning part of my car, which is true when they sponsor you even if you bought every part of the car yourself, and paid for your own car.
its just my personal preference. i do not hate on those that are sponsored, since there is a reason each individual car is sponsored.

Re: ot: Sponsorship (vtecvoodoo)
same thing to me.. you get discounted parts for your car, and often free parts.
those are THERE parts even if they give them to you and what not.. so they own part of your car.
thats just me
