I'm looking for a nice hatch to model in 3D Studio Max. This will possibly be a school project, but if I don't finish it on time, it'll be just for fun.

If anyone wants to have his/her hatch modeled in 3D, please post or IM me a front, rear, left and right side shot of your car. Why not, toss in an engine bay pic and I'll try my best to model it.

Obviously I can't use mine...cuz my car sucks.

This is Civic-related, but I don't know if this should be in MC or not... Mods, if you feel fit to move this thread, please do so.

Damn, you are going to model the whole car? Under hood too? On the honda japansite, they have a fact book site that tells you all about the cars that honda made. They have blueprints of all the hatches, where you can get the front/side/top to make the model from scratch. By the way, which version of MAX are you useing? I have 3dsmax 3 and I cant model a car with detail for ****. But if you are in school, I would imagine that you can do it pretty well with 3dsmax5 and some plug-ins. Let me know how your car comes out. How long will it take you to model a car from scratch?

Yeah, I'm using Max 5 at home and at school. The reason why I'm not using a stock car is because I want to put some nice rims, a lip and an exhaust. I'd like to model a car that's already quite hooked up.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I'll be able to model a whole engine bay... Maybe I'll just put a plane and texture map it

As for modeling time, I have no idea. I've done a tank in 3 days when I was still using Max 4.3.

I've modeled several autos in Max 5..... think Turbosquid also has some Spoon rims on tire there, already done.... that will save some time. Just do a search and find some pics of a car you like, then create your own lips and what not... it's all part of the process

I have this pretty cool plug-in for MAX 5...its called "SimbiontMAX" which allows you to texture a car which looks like real car paint, includes metalics, pearls, and Kandy.

did you need a blueprint of a 96-98 EK cause I got that too.
