Default OT: Car Security. Don't be cheap or stupid, get some!

Almost everyone here knows a friend who's gotten their car jacked or stripped. Yet there are still so many users here that don't have security precautions on their rides. Its soo ****** stupid to spend $10,000 modding out ur car and then not put down $500 or so to make it more secure.

Buy a wheel lock, an auto lock, an alarm system with more then one horn, and install a kill switch. Its expensive, its not making u any faster, and its not even full proof, but its a lot better then nothing and could save ur $10,000 investment.

For anyone who hasnt bought an alarm or an autolock yet, wise up cracka. It can happen to you, ur not invincible. Pick one up this summer.

All of the above are the first things that I did to my car, back when it was completely stock.

Isn't the Civic the #1 most stolen car still?

Pretty sure its a Camry and Accord still, but Civic is up there, especially on the west coast. Just sit down one day and go crazy with radio shack switches and some wiring, find a fun place to hide some switches and some dummy switches.

The last time I looked, the integra was the number one stolen car. But civics are definitely up there.

I really wanna find one of those alarms that call ur cell or pager when it goes off. Now that would be close to full proof if you had one of those, an autolock, a wheel lock and a kill switch. How long does it take you to sprint you ur car from almost any common location once that beeper goes off. Its gonna take a thief at least a few minutes to disable an alarm and a kill switch, and saw through a wheel lock and an auto lock.

first thing i did to my car was buy an alarm.. your chances of getting your sh*t broken into when you put anything on your car doubles.. its common sense.. especially with how unbelievably easy it is to break into a civic. any incompetent person could do it

I spent several hundred dollars on my alarm/other stuff 3 years ago and my car hasn't ever been broke into or stolen -- yet.
