Default Original spare wheel/jack and tool setup?

While I was tooling around the junkyard a few weeks ago I noticed a styrofoam insert that held the jack, jack tool, and lug wrench in the back of a 6th gen hatch. Did this only come on the hatchback models? I ask because I'd like it in my four door as it looks like it might also help keep the trunk board floor piece from becoming too warped.

I believe it came stock but most owners remove it and never placed it back into the tire well.

Can anyone verify that it helps keep the floorboard in the trunk more level?

Just cut out a peice of plywood for the trunk. It makes it solid, doesn't sag and no one sees it with the stock trunk carpet covering it.

^^^ Lowe's and HD have those thin plywood that works great for the tire well floorboard. Give or take $15 in parts.

The best thing you could do to prevent sagging of the old floorboard. Plus, it's real simple to do.

I made my false floor with some 3/4" ply I had laying around. There is NO flexing what so ever.
