try this.. S2000 and NSX guys seem to go this route. I'm still not sure if this is safe, considering that I'm still concerned about the not properly protecting any wiring, but this seems to be quite a popular choice.
i thought i read somewhere a while back (either here or another forum), but simple green being potentially corrosive.. and then there was a huge thread about it being corrosive and not. dont' remember the verdict..it was a while ago.

I read this......there was much more work done to that old *** corroded engine bay than gunk engine degreaser and armorall.
Trust me.

its supposedly biodegradable, so it wont harm plants or what not

Simple green works just as well. Not as bad for the environment. Smells better too - The gunk engine degreaser made my car smell like gas for a week!

Re: Orange clean (careawholelot)
I used an entire bottle trying to clean my empty engine bay before my swap, and it really didn't do much of anything.
Then I used the Gunk Foamy Brite Engine Cleaner
