opinions on my idea for d seris build-up
i just swapped in a d16z6 into my 93 dx hatch. i am on a budget and want to do something to make it a little faster. not really looking to drag but good usable street power. i was thinking turbo but this might be cheaper. feel free to add:
89 a1 pistons (comp 12:03)
shotpeened ls rods(cheap from a friend)
port polish head
new valvetrain
some kind of street/strip cam
act or clutchmasters clutch
anyone have a similar setup? see the motor has 150k on it but runs strong, but i think i need to replace these things whether i go turbo or na so i think this would be cheaper . what about engine management (ie: fuel, ignition) any suggestions?

I was thinking the same thing...still at school and the cash flow isn't all that I want it to be.
you have a good start here.
start small then work up. port and polish are amazing for added power, but for just street use its a waste of cash IMO. does the motor meed rebuilding with 150k its not that bad go for the cam, try and find a ZC tranny keep its clutch, good tranny for your motor, get a header and exhaust before you do the pistons..
