Opinions on H22 swap without suspention, just how bad?
Im torn between swaps and was just wondering if anyone here with an H22 in an 92-95 civic hatch could help me out a bit.
Just how bad is the handling? I dont plan on taking to any type of race track or speed on back roads. It will be used mainly for 1/4 times and such until i can save up enough for suspention upgrade. How will it effect handling on normal freeway lane changes? Will it be totaly upstable or just plow to outside of turns uncontrolably? I know theres like a 80lb differance just wondering how much that would actually effect it.
I would like to upgrade suspention while engine is out for labor / practicality but i dont think ill have the money to do both. If anyone who owns or has such experience with an H22 in Civic Hatch could please respond i would greatly appreciate it.

i'd do it.. and do suspension later.. but depending on how you drive, you may not make it to later

With an h22 in your H/B you can expect a little more understeer. but you already know this so you are willing to with the 2.2 when i did my swap i put all new poly bushings everywhere, juat because, my car had 150,000 miles on it. but with a good set of shocks and some adj coilovers, and a set of swaybars you will be fine. i have koni yellows and ground control coilovers. and i stick with type R's on off ramps, even pulled away from a corvette lt1. Uber-honkey, with all your input I imagine you have experience driving or riding on a Civic with this set-up right?? If not, you're full of ****.
The sus prep I did prior to my H22 transplant was to install Eibach sportlines to raise my vehicle (it used to be slammed). Your handling will be ok for daily driving, but don't expect slalom/autox type handling. With coilovers, strut tower bars, rear-sway w/ Beaks SRK, you'll be handling better than stock.

EVERYTHING will be custom welded/ fabbed up. This costs money. And time. And more money because that's how hybrid swaps of this magnitude go. And then more time, and what the ****... why not more money?

which part of his statement was untruthful?? other than the custom welding part...because they have mount kits out now. The rest seemed about right.

Turbo B18/ B20 will get you more HP for less weight, cost, and headaches.
Think of it this way- how many pro Civic draggers do you see with H22s up front vs. B series? There are a few, but those that know, know it's a pain in the *** and not worth it.
*edit- it's only 80 lbs, but for fun, go strap an 80 lb. bag of concrete to your front bumper and go drive around and lemmie know how you like it.
