Opinions on good investments for your ride
So if you dont have much money and cant afford expensive mods like turbos or superchargers or even an engine swap what do you think are the best cheap investments to increase your hp, even if it is only by 5?

people say stickers add 5 horse power each! if you go to a muffler shop and say you want a straight pipe from headers back (no resignator or cat) you will feel a differance in performance. what kind of civic do ya got?

well i wouldnt call your car an investment because, well, its not.
other than that, the cheapest yet most cost effective mods would be
intake/intake manifold/exhaust manifold (header)/cat-back exhaust system
also, the cheapest way to get horsepower would be nitrous.
dont be fooled by all the nitrous haters, its just as bad for your engine as anything else that makes power, it explodes.

Get ready to send it back because it's a ******* scam, they don't work, cheap scammers that prey on people who don't know anything about cars. Most of the time they get away with it b/c after it's installed people have the mindset that they have more power and think they do. Though they don't.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
You are the 1 Millionth person to ask this question.
Come on man, if you know anything about performance upgrades, there are many other options then just going TC or SC.
Intake/Header/Exhaust, these are all cheap ways to mod for that extra couple of HP.
I am sorry if I come off as a dick, but seriously I don't think I am exaggerating the amount of times this question has been asked.

turbonator = junk = placebo
placebo = positive (or negative) result of expectations implanted (in your case by the company that sold you that piece of crap.)
the product does absolutely nothing for your car, but your mind will tell you that you "feel" the extra horsepower. plus dont you think if this product did the same thing as a turbo kit for only 30 bucks everyone would have one?

Re: (SovXietday)
dude, get a k&n air filter from autozone. After that, I'd save up for a nicer homemade turbo. You can get away with a turbo and a good tune at 8psi for under 1,000. Better to save your money for a few months and do that. But it sounds like you need to open a ROTH account.

agreed - just don't be stupid and run a 100 shot on a stock engine, and you'll be happy with it

Save for a homemade turbo. Slowly start piecing it together. Get an expensive component every month, a less expensive component each week. In a few months you'll be ready to run 8psi safely. Just don't forget the tune. It's the most important thing.
