Default Oops! Oil Pan Question

I was going to check my oil the other days and when I grabbed the dipstick, the handle broke off, leaving the long metal section inside that little tube. I tried to get it out with some needlenose pliers; didn't work. I can still see the rest of the orange plastic handle in there but I'm not sure how to get it out.

I was thinking I'm going to have to drain all my oil, remove the oil pan, and pull it out that way. I could be wrong tho, so I wanted to ask you guys.

Its on a D16Y8 by the way.

Thanks!

If you can see it, can't you use some sort of adhesive like a little drop of epoxy on the end of a thick wire (broken handle if it reaches) or something, press it up on the dipstick, let it dry, and then pull it out. Just don't glue your wire to anything but the dipstick. Not sure if this would be strong enough, but just a thought.

NOOOO!!! I had the same thing happen, and no you definately can't pull it out below, it will just lodge in tighter. You can actually unclip the dipstick tube and pop it right out of the block (on d series at least), then push it out from the bottom.
