ongoing problem, need help
ok, for awhile now my cars been overheating at idle. whenever i see a sign of my temp going up i turn my heater on and its gone. few months back, when this was going on, i changed my thermostat, flushed coolant system, bled it, and wired my radiator fan to a switch. still overheated if i did a hard run. if i drive normally, it wouldnt. i did a compression test, and it looks fine. identical numbers on all 4. what can i do now? this is really holding me back from moving further on my car so i really need your guys' help. BTW my setup: d16y8 w/ greddy turbo and intercooler @ 6psi.

What year and model car do you have and what radiator are you currently running? I'm sure you know by now that the Del Sol VTEC dual core radiator can be had for $100 at any Napa and does an incredible job of cooling any setup.

My friend is having the same problem with a zc engine i just swaped into it, I told him to get a spoon or mugen radiator cap, and a new - performance radiator. that might help ****. let me know what does it for you. He would iddle while stopped. If your crank pulley is fucked up, it might be holding your water pump back. Check that.

Sure will. Same hoses, same rubber mount bushings, twice the cooling efficiency .

try your radiator fan. Sounds like it isn't overheating while your driving because you are getting cold air on your radiator while driving. When your sitting still you are overheating because of no air circulating. My thoughts are new fan, could just be your relay to your fan, or clogg in your coolant. You said you put a new thermostat in did you just fill it up after you replaced it or did you squeeze your lines and circulate it so you could get the air out?
