Default Ongoing CEL problem EG z6

I have a 92 cx with y7/z6 mini me, wired for vtec but i need the p28, running y7 ecu.

Alright, i thought i fixed the problem with high idle, caused by my IAT, code 10, by replacing it with a brand new oem honda sensor. I still had the CEL when i first plugged in the new one, but i have since cleaned out the IACV, and ADJUSTED the FITV. A few miles after i did these things, my CEL turned off and my idle seemed to settle at about 900rpm for about 2 weeks.

It came back on when i was driving on the freeway, and immediately my idle went back to around 1500rpm. I have no vac leaks, everything i straight in that department.

Yesterday, I adjusted the screw on the top of my TB, just below the MAP sensor and above the butterfly valve. I shut off the car and unplugged the IACV and the idle is now at 1000rpm, so it worked, but my CEL code 10 is still showing.

I dont know what to do.

It's probably related to you using the wrong ecu.

So are you running an OBD2 ecu? If so your gonna have a lot of issues. The y7 uses a 3 wire O2 as opposed to a 2 wire. It uses 2 O2s instead of one. It also uses a crank sensor on the timing belt area.

obd2 ecu? no, its the stock ecu for the 92 cx, came with a d15b8, sorry, i put b7 before, regardless, its the stock ecu for the cx. obd1.

the 92 eg's for some reason, were pre-wired for vtec from the ecu plugs to the plug at the passenger side shock tower. So in other words, nothing has to be wired directly to the ecu if you're converting to vtec.

i have the 4wire o2 hooked up, there is no IAB or Knock obviously, the vtec solenoid is hooked up, both plugs are wired up correctly.

I have a slight feeling that the problem is the ecu, but i dont have the money for a p28 right now.

Did you reverse the iat and iacv wires?

No, the grn/wht, red/ylw wires go to the IACV, im drawing a blank of the IAT, but i think they're green and black?

Either way, they're hooked up right, remember, only throwing code 10. I would disconnect the IACV and i could feel the difference, so obviously its the correct plug.

off of the top of my head green and red sounds correct....honestly, that iat sensor doesnt do a whole lot, i drove without one for a few months last yr, didnt effect my mpg or anything. it sounds more like a spontaneous vacuum leak or wires touching randomly, loose pin, etc... something along those lines

I HAD a vac leak, the purge cut solenoid removed, but the charcoal canister is still in place. So the open nipple at the back of the IM was open, i finally sorted all of that out.

When the CEL is OFF, my idle is around 500-700, when it comes on, its 1000-1200. So, that IAT is making a change in the motor for some strange reason. The CEL doesnt always turn on.
