Default OMG+++ a real question....

SEARCHED, but I need confirmation
Set Up:
jdm d15 vtec-e motor
USDM cx intake manifold
dc 4-2-1 header
aem cold air intake
tanabe rm exhaust.

Is the correct fuel pressure setting read with the Vacuum HOSE OFF?
Let's say I want 38psi, I need to take the hose OFF and set the fpr to 38psi then put hose back on, thus pressure with the vacuum hose on is not accurate? And what are the stock pressure numbers again?

I dont quit get your question. You want to set your fuel pressure to 38psi? Or is that where its at and you want to change it?

Either way, i think the only way you could change it is with an adjustible FPR. Atleast thats how i know how to do it.

The 38psi was hypothetical. I have a b&m fpr, but I was trying to figure out which pressure reading was accurate: w/ or w/o the vacuum hose.

You should have checked it with your OE regulator on to know what you were running stock. At any rate, the Helms gives numbers for vacuum on and off, but its usually measured with the hose on.

non-vtec D15s run around 35psi @ idle w/vacuum on.
B16 run around 35-41psi @ idle w/vacuum on.

Hose on, hose off, wax on, wax off. Set it with your hose on so it is reading vacuum. You do drive your car with the hose on, right? Set it that way.

you will want it to hypothetically read 38psi with the hose on. Hose off will be about 42 or so.

I refuse to help because your title is retarded.

READ the forum rules and you'll see that topics need to have subject-sensitive info in them!

to measure the pressure with the hose off, take the hose off the fpr and pinch it

you guys are funny. I love H-T but there are some funny posts on here. When you adjust your fuel pressure you should do it with your vaccume line on, also the reason for adjusting with vaccume line off is to see where fuel pressure is at Zero Vaccume or theoretically wide open throttle.

OH YEAH YOUR TITLE IS STUPID

LOL to be honest with you the cx runners were bigger than the ones that came with the motor and I kept on getting a cel for the egr valve, thus I swapped it out. will the z6 fit with no mods because I know the y8 won't?

with all due respect to mods and members alike the title was a draw, it was to get you all to read it... thanks for doing that. Secondly, the info you all have given me contradicts the answers I have found while using the search button, thus resulting in the reason I posted this to begin with.

No ladies and gents if you would be so kind and please clarify

P.S. B18C5-EH2,
from now on not only will I make it my business to include a subject, but I will also actually read the forum's guidelines.

Cool man, thanks. Sorry for coming off as a dick, but it's just that we always have new members posting up things that go against the rules, and I get a tad bit pissy sometimes.

Give me some time to handle these customers at my front desk and I'll check this topic out better and reply.

Leave the hose on and find the PSI.

I've always been told to adjust fuel pressure with the hose off. As you set the base fuel pressure that way. If I'm right, base fuel pressure for a honda motor is 42 with vacuum off. Atleast this is what I set my hondata fuel pressure to.

Here's what you do:

Remove hose and hold your thumb over the end of the hose. Adjust fuel pressure. Reinstall hose. If it's not at your desired psi, then remove hose and adjust some more.

Stock fp is at 38psi at idle with hose connected for b series.

when my brother set his fuel pressure....he took the hose off and plugged it. then you set the desired pressure...then put the hose back on. the pressure will change, but that is what you do. he tried setting it without plugging the hose and it ran all messed up.
