older engine into newer car ......opinions
I have a 2000 Hatch, and ive been offered a 1991 B16A with 98,000 on the clock for real cheap. The engine has full service history, but my car only has 77,000 on it. Would i be stupid to put the B16A in my car with the mileage what it is?
Thanks

Yes, it would be stupid.
One, that engine will have a cable tranny on it, not a hydro tranny like your car uses.
Two, it's illegal in most states to put an older engine into a newer car, as they don't have the same amount of smog equipment.
Three, why in God's name would you knowingly put a motor with MORE miles into your car?

I agree, save up a little more money to get the right swap

Most people, 90%, never get their swaps legalized anyways.
