older ecu meets standards?

Default older ecu meets standards?

whats california standards? i was told that if i were to put a EG ecu for my d16z6 head i would not meet standards? that i need a 96+ ecu? cause mine is a 96 civic. what do they meen by standards? will i pass smog/ emissions? (noob questions)

you wont pass with that combo becuase your car came obd2 and you put an obd1 ecu in it. the scanner will not work with it and they will fail you right there
